About the Teacher
Education and Experience:
I hold bachelor's degrees in Journalism and English from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked in publishing as a magazine editor and communications director of a nonprofit.
This is my fifth year at Lake Cormorant High School. I teach 11th grade English and English elective courses. I have previously worked as a literacy coach at the middle school level, volunteered as an adult literacy coach, and taught creative writing and theater.
I also sponsor LCHS Speech & Debate, Knowledge Bowl, and the Chess Club.
Welcome to Our Class
Welcome back to LCHS. I am so glad to have my students back in the building! This year we'll be preparing you for the ACT test, exploring American literature (or mythology for those of you in World Literature class), and tackling how to write a college paper. We'll work together to grow our skills and gain confidence in our academic abilities.
